As a director at LE&A, Brent Snavely brings more than 20 years’ experience in business, financial and automotive journalism. Brent works closely with the firm’s investor relations, manufacturing and mobility clients and will also provide strategic counsel firm-wide.
Most recently, he served as the lead automotive writer at the Detroit Free Press where he covered Ford and General Motors while also serving as auto team leader. In that role, he co-managed automotive coverage for the Detroit Free Press and USA Today with USA Today. He also co-managed two national automotive editorial projects for USA Today Network, USA Today and the Detroit Free press.
Additionally, he led the award-winning coverage of the UAW’s contract negotiations in 2011 and again in 2015, served as a key member of a team that covered Detroit’s bankruptcy and closely chronicled the transformation of Chrysler from a bankrupt American automaker into Fiat Chrysler Automobiles.
Prior to Detroit Free Press, Snavely worked for Crain’s Detroit Business, covering industries that included automotive suppliers, retail and restaurants.
Brent’s business journalism expertise spans topics that range from manufacturing and labor to marketing and product development along with CEO succession planning, mergers and acquisitions and Chapter 11 bankruptcy.
Brent holds a bachelor’s degree in political science from Wittenberg University in Springfield, Ohio.
