Ashleigh Chatel joined LE&A in 2011, working with top clients including Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan, DTE Energy and Trinity Health. Since then, her role has steadily expanded to include a range of clients from private equity to nonprofit.
In her almost five years with the firm, Ashleigh has managed and supported extensive media relations campaigns, crisis communications, integrated communications and corporate communications initiatives. Ashleigh specializes in media relations, internal communications, project management, social media management, media monitoring and reporting, event planning/management and crisis communications.
Most recently, Ashleigh led the launch of the Downtown Detroit Partnership’s Ambassador Program, a cleaning and hospitality initiative serving the greater downtown area. Her work on the program included project management from creative design to the press/program launch event.
She has also done pro bono PR work for the firm, including a communications fellowship program with the City of Detroit Emergency Manager’s office and the Detroit Homecoming, a Crain’s Detroit Business event that draws 150 Detroit influential expatriates back to the city to reconnect and reinvest.
Ashleigh is a member of the Detroit Economic Club, Detroit Young Professionals and volunteers for the National Foundation for Celiac Awareness.
Prior to joining LE&A, Ashleigh spent a year in the media industry. She also worked for three years as an intern at a boutique Detroit public relations agency.
Ashleigh has her bachelor’s degree from Wayne State University in communications studies with a focus on organizational communication and public relations. While at Wayne, she served as vice president and president for the Public Relations Student Society of America chapter.
