DETROIT, Mich. – 3-13-13 – The Detroit Regional Chamber will welcome Lambert to Downtown Detroit with a ribbon-cutting event Wednesday, March 13 at 5:15 p.m. ET. As part of the opening ceremony, Lambert will be donating 100 pairs of new running shoes to support various programs at the Boll Family YMCA, including Girls on the Run, an experiential learning program focused on self-respect and healthy living, serving young girls in Metro Detroit.

The building that now serves as Lambert’s Detroit office – located at 1420 Broadway at the intersection of Grand River and Broadway – was a vacant retail space filled with sand just nine short months ago. After being designed and constructed from the ground up, the office now can be best described as “professional cool”, blending creative elements in a professional, but entirely urban environment and walking distance from Comerica Park, Campus Martius, Greektown and the Detroit Athletic Club.

Lambert, Michigan’s only statewide public relations agency and a top-20 investor relations firm nationally, boasts more than 100 clients across 20 states and five countries and viewed downtown Detroit as the ideal setting for its long-time East Michigan office. From concept to construction, Lambert also tapped Michigan-based companies and clients for its move from Troy to “the D”.

“As a firm, we have always identified with the ‘made in Michigan’ mentality, and we make it a point to use clients and local companies and vendors whenever possible,” said Jeff Lambert, president and managing partner of Lambert. “While our reach extends beyond regional to national and international companies, we take pride in our roots and feel confident that Detroit is a perfect reflection of our Midwest work ethic, underdog status and up-and-coming national appeal.”
Lambert said the entire space was custom-designed to reflect Lambert’s company culture. The staff’s affinity for Detroit sports teams inspired the design of the main conference room, dubbed the “Locker Room”, where official Lions, Pistons, Red Wings and Tigers jerseys and sports memorabilia fill the custom-built lockers that line the wall. The real-life racecar mounted on another wall showcases numerous “sponsors,” also known as the firm’s clients from each of its five practice groups. Further tying into the sports theme, a basketball hoop and mini-court double as a brainstorming and recreational space for team members to collaborate and engage in friendly competition.

Clearly inspired by the city, Lambert invested $1.1 million into the project and engaged a variety of local businesses for inspiration and to build out the 8,668-square-foot space. With the help of Lambert clients, including Engineered Protection Services (EPS), TWO MEN AND A TRUCK and Avian Furniture, local construction partners Bedrock Real Estate, Brinker Construction and Cornerstone Architects, and the guidance and support of the Detroit Economic Growth Corporation (DEGC) and the Detroit Opera House, the vacant office building was brought to life.

“Our vision was to create an inviting work place for our employees, a place to connect with clients and give them a reason to come downtown, and to make an impact on the city’s landscape,” Lambert added. “We are a small blip on the revitalization radar screen in Detroit, but just as we followed the lead of Blue Cross Blue Shield, DTE Energy, Quicken and the Illitch family downtown, we hope other service providers will follow us and realize the benefits of a vibrant urban office, a strong Detroit and a restored Michigan.”
