Christi Cowdin joined LE&A in October 2015 and leads the firm’s financial communications efforts and digital services team, Ripple+Affect. Christi brings a balanced financial and creative perspective to the firm, with nearly 20 years of professional experience in investor relations, marketing, public relations and corporate communications.
Christi’s experience includes working with global consumer brands, financial institutions and business-to-business clients. During her career, she has been either directly responsible for or partnered with outside agencies to develop marketing and advertising campaigns, execute corporate re-branding campaigns, act as company spokesperson or media liaison, and lead design and creative functions. Additionally, she has managed numerous issues including environmental concerns, shareholder activism, labor relations, human rights and defining engagement criteria for third-party suppliers.
Prior to joining LE&A, Christi led investor relations and corporate communications at Wolverine World Wide, Inc., a global marketer of footwear, apparel and accessories including brands such as Merrell, Sperry Top-Sider, Keds, Hush Puppies and Saucony. She was also responsible for the company’s in-house Creative Design Group and served as vice president of the Wolverine Worldwide Foundation. Earlier in her career with Wolverine, Christi held marketing roles within the company’s most global brands where she led numerous product launches, marketing campaigns and branding initiatives.
Christi has extensive experience in community involvement and education and cause-related initiatives. During her time as vice president of the Wolverine Worldwide Foundation she worked with West Michigan-based, Michigan-based, and both U.S. and international-based charitable organizations. She led the community fundraising element of a successful campaign to bring a YMCA branch to the under-served northern Kent County community.
Christi is a graduate of the University of Michigan, where she earned a degree in both communications and psychology. Her work in investor relations has been nominated multiple times for recognition in the Institutional Investor Awards and she has been a member of the National Investor Relations Institute, the Public Relations Society of America and the International Association of Business Communicators.
